The Brewing Tree: A Coloring Scavenger Hunt
A coloring book about this place — the kitchen, the river, the sandbox and the stage — made with Grit.
Ask at the bar and the book is yours. Four pages, a small fire salamander named Spark hiding on each one, and a prize when you have found him.
Page two
Minh and Spark, and a flame that went out.
Once upon a time, in the village of Grit, Minh and her fire salamander, Spark, collected knowledge from far and wide. But they met long before they kept the library together.
Deep in the forest grew a great oak, and in its shadow lived a community of healers, alchemists and potion brewers. Their remedies were famous in every land — but lately the heartspark, the everflame in the hollow of the oak, had gone dark.
Help Minh search the grounds, page by page, for that pesky Spark. Only your colors can rekindle the flame.
What's inside
Four pages, four places
Every page is somewhere you can walk to from your table. Color all four, and keep an eye out for Spark hiding on each one.

How to get one
Ask at the bar.
The book is free for kids, and there are crayons at the taproom counter, the River Bar and the Scratch Kitchen — so you can color wherever you land. When all four pages are colored and Spark is found, bring it back for the free prize the cover promises.
We're at 9278 Rockfish Valley Hwy, Afton, VA 22920 — hours and directions are on the Plan Your Visit page. The grounds, the river and the sandbox are open to kids whenever we are.
There is more for families here than the book.
In partnership with Grit
The story keeps going at home.
Grit is where Minh and Spark come from — a story world for kids, and the reason this book exists.
There is a code on the back cover. Scan it, sign up with a grown-up's email, and we will send a $10 Brewing Tree gift card, good for food and drink in the taproom — one per email, while supplies last. That one is separate from the prize at the bar.
