Route 151 runs the length of the Rockfish Valley through Nelson County — the stretch locals call the Nelson 151. Brewing Tree sits on it at 9278 Rockfish Valley Hwy, Afton, VA 22920: five riverside acres at the foot of the Blue Ridge, with the beer brewed on site.
Where we are on the road
We're on Rockfish Valley Highway, with Afton Mountain to the north and Wintergreen up the mountain to the west. The Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail cross at Afton Mountain just north of us, and the last stretch down into the valley runs past orchards and vineyards.
The 151 is lined with breweries, cideries and vineyards. Most people who drive out make an afternoon of it rather than a single stop — and we'd rather you did.
